Rare Vintage Cast Brass Joe Kaplan Shader Tattoo Machine.
Late 1990s-early 2000s Vintage Joe Kaplan shader in excellent used condition. Here it is, the rarest machine I have. It’s estimated to be 1 of 6, but there could be a few more out there. 6 was the only confident answer I got when digging for info. Actually I couldn’t find much info on these at all but Jason Stone and a couple others were helpful. Apparently Joe wasn’t fond of working with brass so he only made some for his close friends. All the parts are original except the rear spring, and I’m not sure if the A bars right. I’ll see if I have another old A bar I can include but I’m not 100% if I have any Kaplan’s left. If I can find a Kaplan rear spring I’ll add that as well, should have one but if not I’ll add some others. It runs great, no alignment issues or any performance problems. The rear coil could use a shim though. The only real flaws are the wear on the coil wraps, and they aren’t wires through the washer holes. The frames pretty much perfect, same with the binding posts and nickel plated brass contact screw. Thanks for checking out my store, please make your payment within 24 hours.
